We will depart from The Norterre Estoria Rehabilitation & Recovery Households at approximately 10:20 a.m. Where: Aurora Health & Wellness Center at Norterre, 2551 Norterre Circle Liberty, MO 64068 PURPOSE Socio-emotional Development Music Children will perform & sing multiple holiday songs like Deck the Halls, Up on the Housetop, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Jingle Bells, & many, many more! Art With 1,100 pieces of curated art including two original floating sky sculptures by Talley Fisher, an original Any Warhol, & two unique compositions by Salvador Dali Physical Development Responds to sensory input to function in the environment: exhibits sensory, body, spatial, & temporal awareness Health & Self Care (Nutrition & Fitness) Focus Areas healthy practices & behaviors improving personal health prevention of infectious diseases positive health choices school & community health helpers Establishing healthy behaviors & practices during childhood is easier & more effective than trying to change unhealthy behaviors during adulthood. School plays a critical role in promoting the health & safety of young people & helping them establish lifelong healthy behaviors. Adopted Framework: Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child Model The Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child (WSCC) model is the student-centered framework provided by The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention for addressing health in schools. The WSCC model emphasizes the role of the community in supporting the school, the connections between health & academic achievement & the importance of evidence-based school policies & practices.
